"Sustainable development entrepreneurs" is a programme run by the CCI of Poitou-Charentes with the support of the DRIRE and GDF SUEZ. It encourages a resolutly and deliberately "hands-on" approach for company bosses. The action is based on three ideas : regional networking
The business clubs and associations in the region are approached to raise awareness, and over the years many have passed the message on : Offensiv'PME, EI2S, VEE, Altere Entreprise, Club des Entrepreneurs du Niortais, Club des Entrepreneurs de Gâtine, Club des Entreprises du Mellois et Val de Sèvre, HA 17, DCF, Club des Entreprises du Thouarsais, Club des Entreprises du Bocage, DEFI Haute Saintonge, etc.

And especially, the personal experiences of business leaders who have implemented approaches, processes and experiments in the field of ecological activities and sustainable development. So far, sixty people have shared their experience with their colleagues in the meetings, conferences and workshops organised in the last four years.

Assistance to individual businesses :
The Poitou-Charentes CCIs offer free advance diagnosis in sustainable development to small and medium-sized companies through consultants trained in AFNOR methodology. Before a pre-diagnosis is undertaken, the business leader is invited to one of the workshops on Discovering Sustainable Development, run by the AFNOR group in our region. Series of project workshops are also available for groups of about ten small and medium-sized companies, after which individual appointments and follow-up are proposed to firm up the project that the business wants to set up.
